Shifali Gorka was recognised for her work including on Time Out鈥檚 talks with the Crown Estate to open its first food hall in London, a story which led directly to the media and hospitality giant when confirming the negotiations after publication; as well her work tracing the and of the sales process for Nuveen鈥檚 stake in the St James mall in Edinburgh.
Her feature work was also highlighted, including with Columbia Threadneedle fund manager Tom Elviss on the investor鈥檚 approach to buying retail real estate.
The IBP said its judges described Gorka鈥檚 work as showing 鈥渢enacity to deliver a solid scoop鈥�, noting coverage of her news stories elsewhere in the press, and praised her 鈥渆ngaging feature writing鈥�.
Also recognised at the awards was Evelina Grecenko, Estates Gazette鈥榮 senior reporter. Grecenko was nominated for 鈥榗ommercial property journalist of the year鈥� and for 鈥榮coop of the year鈥�, the latter for on pharma giant Eli Lilly pausing its UK investment plans, an early sign of a trend that has dominated that industry in the months since.
